Having a Ball – cover art

Fab cover designed by Umber Creative
Having a Ball

Ta daah! The cover art for my next book Having a Ball has arrived. I’m so excited about it I can’t stop smiling.

In case you were wondering what Having a Ball is all about (you were wondering – right?), here’s the blurb:

When the going gets tough, the tough throw a party.

Stevie has always relied on her brother to bail her out of trouble. Now she needs to prove to him that she can be independent and mature. When she takes on a job organising a charity ball for some slightly barmy retired academics, she’s not expecting to fall in love with the rambling old house, the even more rambling family that lives there and Tom, the boss’s son. If she can make the ball a success she could show the world, and herself, that she’s her own woman. She doesn’t need anyone else. Nope. Not anyone. Not at all.

It will be published by Uncial Press next year ( Feb 2013). For those of you who’ve read Patently in Love, it’s Stevie’s story.  The cover art was done my Umber Creative, who are a lovely bunch of people. One of them even has a grandmother whose name was Rhoda Baxter. What are the chances of that, eh?

    1. Thanks Gwen. I love it too.
It was designed by the lovely people at Umber Creative (My publisher gave me the option of choosing the cover designer, so I went with a local firm).
Weirdly, one of the guys there has a grandmother named Rhoda Baxter. Fate?
