Goodreads Book Review – Cyberstalker by Jens Hildebrand

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I liked the idea of this book. It’s been a while since I read any YA, so I thought I’d give it a go. Oh my goodness, I was hooked after the first couple of chapters. As a parent with all this moody teenager stuff to look forward to, the book terrified me. As a reader, looking at the world through the eyes of a teenage protagonist, the book fascinated me.

Basically, Lilly accepts a friend request (on the made up Facebook-alike social media site MyWorld) from a guy she doesn’t know. He ends up stalking her.

What makes the book so interesting is Lilly’s reaction to her stalker. Yes, she’s scared, but she’s also strangely fascinated. Giving up her phone is akin to losing her identity. It’s all infuriating to read, but oddly understandable.

I really enjoyed this book. I’m glad I decided to have a look at it.  (I don’t always review the books I’m sent. Some I abandon after a few chapters).
I was given a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.
