I often write books to make myself a place to escape to. During lockdown, I dreamed of cosy, low angst places and I dreamed of community. I’d had an idea of a cosy romantic story set against the background of a heritage steam railway, so I decided to write that. I fell in love with the group of friends (and I already loved steam trains), so I wrote two more.
Now I’m finally releasing these books. Here’s book 1 of the Brambleberry Steam Railway series – The Valentine’s Express. Here’s the cover:

Poppy put her career on hold when she returned home to care for her mother. Now that her mum is better, Poppy can finally leave her job at the steam railway cafe and reclaim her old life.
Scott is grieving his lost wife and needs to get away from London and all that reminds him of her. When he volunteers at the local steam railway, the last thing he expects is to meet someone like Poppy.
But the big city is calling Poppy back. Can Scott overcome the ghosts of his past to follow her there, or will their paths diverge just as they’ve finally found each other?
If you like heartwarming romances set in British villages (in Yorkshire), you like steam trains in the background, and you like stories about communities and friendship like those written by Milly Johnson, Jessica Redland, Sue Moorcroft or Debbie Johnson, then you’ll love The Valentine’s Express on the Brambleberry Railway.
You can preorder it from Amazon or Kobo, Apple Books and other ebook retailers.
