Today I’m joining Jan Horton’s Spellbindingly fun blog party to celebrate the launch of her new book How do You Voodoo
When Janice said, think of your object of desire, I spent some time fantasising about holidays and cake (which are my default objects of desire – holidays eating cake, holidays baking cakes, cake with cake…). Then reality broke in and I realised I had a 102 things to do instead of wasting time daydreaming about cake. I thought, hey, this is a voodoo thing. I can do whatever I like. So I wish for… more time.
I would like to bake a ‘More time in the day’ cake. I’ve often wished there were more waking hours in the day, so that I could do everything and still get a bit of sleep. So here’s my recipe for More Time in the Day fairy cakes. Each cake should give you about 90 minutes. You can bake a whole cake and slice it into one hour slices, if you’d prefer.
My ingredients: three wild rose petals, a light pinch of magical herbs, 4 and a half dragon’s tears (use a glass dropper, not plastic), thistledown. Stir into a standard sponge cake recipe. Bake at 180 degrees until firm (don’t worry if they turn purple, this is normal). Turn out onto a wire rack to cool. Sprinkle with Magick crystals to decorate (note – if the crystals melt to form a pink glaze, you haven’t cooled them enough. They still work, but you’ll get about 10 minutes less time.
My spell:
Magic herbs, petals rose, tears that dripped off a dragon’s nose
Thistle down and sponge to bake a truly special fairy cake
Donate to a friend for a gift sublime
There’s no time like the present and no present like more time

Now then, what am I going to do with all this extra time… oh yeah.
